We're back with another round of Irish player ratings, giving you a look at the performances of our footballers plying their trade abroad.

It was a good week for James McClean, who continued his strong form for Stoke City. There were also plenty of Irish goalscorers in League One and League Two.

Here are the ratings in full.

Premier League

It was another fairly quiet week for Irish players in the Premier League, with no real standout performances to speak of.

Matt Doherty was the best of the bunch, playing a big role in Tottenham's 2-1 victory over Brighton last night. Strangely, Aaron Connolly was omitted from the Brighton squad for that one.

Enda Stevens (6.6), John Egan (6.4), Kevin Long (6.2), and Jeff Hendrick (6.4) were the only other Irish players to start in the division over the weekend.

James McClean was the standout Irish player in the Championship, scoring the only goal of the game as Stoke City secured a 1-0 victory over Rotherham. It was a well-taken strike as well, reading the ball in behind the opposition defence and dinking it over the on-rushing goalkeeper.

McClean has been in excellent form for his club as of late, also finding the back of the net against Brentford in their previous home fixture.

Callum O'Dowda came back into the Bristol City team for their 3-1 loss at the hand of Norwich City, playing in the centre of midfield and earning a rating of 7.1.

Jason Knight also continued his run in the Derby County side, with the 19-year old having played the full 90 minutes in each of their nine Championship fixtures to date.

League One

It was a very productive weekend for Irish players in League One, notching a combined three goals and three assists.

Jack Taylor was the pick of the bunch, with the Irish U21 international getting a 9.1 rating from Who Scored after finding the back of the net in Peterborough's win over Shrewsbury Town with an impressive strike from outside the box.

Former Derry city winger Josh Daniels scored Shrewsbury's only goal of the game.

Taylor was also named in the League One Team of the Week for his efforts.

Peterborough currently sit top of League One, with Taylor proving to be a key player in their promotion push.

Fleetwood Town's Paddy Madden also found the back of the net, scoring his side's second in the win over Oxford United.

The well taken half-volley was the 30-year old's second goal of the season.

Another name to keep an eye out for is Bobby Jones. The Irish U18 goalkeeper made his first appearance for Wigan Athletic at the weekend, putting in a decent performance despite the 3-2 loss to Northampton Town.

Jones was previously part of the youth academy at Middlesbrough before joining Wigan in 2018.

League Two

Grimsby Town goalkeeper James McKeown put in another excellent display over the weekend, earning man-of-the-match honours in his side's 0-0 draw at Stevenage. He was included in the League Two Team of the Week for his efforts.

Leyton Orient striker Connor Wilkinson was also the standout performer in his side's 4-0 win over Bolton Wanderers, scoring their third goal of the game.

The 25-year old grabbed his fourth goal in the last five games with a beautiful free-kick.

Padraig Amond was the other Irish goalscorer in the division, netting Newport County's opener in the 2-1 win over Harrogate Town.

This was Amond's third goal of the campaign, with Newport now sitting an impressive five points clear at the top of League Two, ten games into the campaign.
