Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have both seemingly done the impossible since their respective moves from players to pundits. They both seem to have won over Liverpool and Manchester United fans alike and knocked down those barriers of likeability that divides the two great footballing cities.
Maybe "like" is too strong a word but they've both at least gotten begrudging respect from each other's rival sides. This is in no small part to the banter both come out with against each other live on the air on Sky Sports. It's easy to put yourself in either man's shoes (depending on your allegiance) and relate. As if you and your pal were in the same situation, using the same banter.
Of course the modern football banter through social media isn't just reserved for frienemies Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville and occasionally Phil Neville will try to jump in on the fun and attempt to get involved. Just like his playing days though, when it comes to banter Phillip is in Gary's shadow.
This has become evident yet again in the latest back and forth on social media. Carragher posted on his personal Twitter and Instagram that he had just interviewed Liverpool's world record signing for a defender, Virgil Van Dijk at Melwood (Liverpool's training ground).

Standard enough stuff. However, on the Instagram version of the post Phil Neville jumped in and attempted to jeer Carra by asking if the ex-Liverpool defender now lived at Liverpool's training ground. As has been seen from similar situations in the past, Jamie Carragher is not one to hold back and needless to say his rebuttal to the ex Manchester United and Everton player was absolutely cutting.
The ex Liverpool defender went straight for the jugular referring of course to Neville's disastrous tenure as Manchester United assistant manager opposite David Moyes.
Absolutely savage.
