Jamie Carragher Had A Strong Message For Loris Karius At Half-Time

Dmitri Payet silenced Anfield as the Frenchman's freekick found the back of the net to draw the sides level. Despite the exectution, Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has come under further criticism for his attempt to save the shot. As the ball curls over the wall, it is glaringly obvious that the German is liable of getting caught out of position.

A visibly livid, Jamie Carragher was quick to criticise the goalkeeper during Sky Sports half-time analysis;

The keeper got criticism last week and he's come out this and had a pop at Gary Neville. He's mentioned me.

My advice would be 'shut up and just do your job'. And doing your job and answering your critics would be saving that. That is not difficult.

His wrists, again like the first goal at Bournemouth are not strong enough. It's not even in the corner. And Payet hasn't even hit it hard.

It's the second time within a week the young goalkeeper has came under fire following a less than impressive effort between the sticks against Bournemouth last week as Karius conceded three goals in the final 20 minutes of the game.

The former Mainz shot-stopper spoke to the Daily Mail during the week about his critics and zoned in on one in particular;

Carragher was here at Liverpool for a long time so maybe after the game he was a bit frustrated. He is probably still a supporter. I have to accept it.

What critics say right after the game, I don’t know what I think. If you asked them again would they say it now?

And I don’t care what Gary Neville said. He was a top player, then he was a manager for a short bit and now he is back to being an expert again.

Answering critics through the press is one thing but whether or not Karius can do it on the football pitch is another.
