Jamie Carragher has had an ongoing feud with Man United defender Lisandro Martínez, since the player joined Man United.

Initially the former Liverpool star said that Martinez was too small to be a centre back in the Premier League, but after a successful first season, Carragher apologised and admitted that he was wrong.

Since that first season however, the Argentine has played his role in a disastrous few years for the Old Trafford faithful, and the Sky Sports pundit likes to remind everyone that he spotted the player's weaknesses' first.

After the Red Devil's lost to Brighton last weekend, their manager Ruben Amorim said that his team were arguably the worst United team in the club's history.

Carragher didn't think that this was a particular wise move from the new boss, and pointed out that the players have made some strange comments of their own in recent weeks.

"It certainly doesn't help you confidence-wise going forward, or maybe belief-wise.

"I've got not much sympathy for the players in that Manchester United dressing room, they've been a joke for a few years now.

"A few weeks ago after they played Liverpool there was an interview with Lisandro Martinez where he was talking about the mentality and tapping his head.

"I nearly burst out laughing when I saw that to be honest, the amount of times Manchester United have basically threw the towel in with bad performances over the past four or five years.

"I'd be very surprised if the powers-that-be above him aren't having a strong word with him. You can't speak like that as manager of Manchester United. You don't pour petrol on the flames."

Since Amorim has arrived at the club, they have only won two games out of 10, meaning that his record is actually worse than when Erik ten Hag was in charge.

The ongoing dispute between the manager and Marcus Rashford is also creating a lot of headlines, as it looks like the striker will be leaving sooner rather than later, and many more could be heading for the exit door at Old Trafford.
