Amid the reports that Leicester players pushed for the sacking of Claudio Ranieri due to concerns about his team selection and tactics, there also came word of the Italian's feelings regarding his players this season.

Ranieri apparently believed the players' motivation had severely dropped this season in comparison to last season's title-winning campaign.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Jamie Carragher could also recognise a change in the Leicester players. He believes the only individual who did not change withing the Leicester dressing was Ranieri but that several players certainly did.

I think if there's one person that hasn't changed in that dressing room this season it's the manager.

I definitely think it has changed some of the players. With the contracts they have, you see some of them in those stupid lifestyle magazines, maybe some of it has gone to their heads and they're getting carried away because they're not as good as they think they are.

Last season was a freak - a brilliant one that we all absolutely loved - but we all know really that Leicester aren't that good.

We expected the quality to drop off, not this far of course. I'm devastated for him. A lot of questions have got to be asked of the owners and of the players.
