Ireland midfielder Jayson Molumby has completed a move to West Brom, on a season-long loan from Premier League club Brighton.

The move to the Championship club will hopefully mean more regular game-time for the Ireland international.

22-year-old Waterford man Molumby will spend a third season in the Championship, after spells at Millwall and Preston in the past two seasons.

The deal to bring Molumby to the Hawthorns also has a "view to a permanent deal", according to the West Brom website.

Quoted on the club site, West Brom manager Valérian Ismael praised the young Irishman, and said that he was the right kind of player for the Baggies.

Jayson is the perfect example of a player who has the right mentality and suits our philosophy. He is the right player for us and we are delighted to have him.

His skills out of possession are incredible and he gives us more volume and more possibilities in midfield, which will support us with our intensity and this is one of his strengths.

Jayson is young but he already has a lot of experience in the Championship and with Ireland. He has the perfect profile – our new profile – to be a West Brom player and I’m delighted to have him.

Jayson Molumby made his debut for the Irish senior team last September, and has been named in Stephen Kenny's squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Portugal, Azerbaijan, and Serbia.

The news of Molumby's move to West Brom will be music to the ears of Kenny, with Molumby set for regular game time rather than the spells on the bench which he saw early last year at Brighton.

It looks like West Brom will be the place to be going forward for Jayson Molumby, especially if the view to a permanent deal comes through, and Irish fans will be hoping his time at the Hawthorns is a success.
