For three decades, Jeff Stelling has been synonymous with Sky Sports' coverage of the Premier League.

The 68-year old has been a mainstay on various shows down through the years, most notably on Soccer Saturday. As presenter, he has provided countless memorable moments alongside the various pundits that appeared in the studio.

This season had been somewhat of a bonus one for Stelling. Back in October of 2021, it was announced that he would be leaving Sky Sports at the end of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

It had been said at the time that his decision was made after a number of his former colleagues, including Matt Le Tissier, Phil Thompson, and Charlie Nicholas, did not have their contracts renewed. However, he would later announce that he had reversed his decision and would be staying on.

Now, he has finally to move on.

It is groundhog day! Yes, it is that time of the year, every year, when I announced that I am leaving Sky Sports and Gillette Soccer Saturday, but this time is true.

I've had 30 fantastic years on Sky. All of you out there have supported me fantastically, as have Sky. It's time to give you all a break from the VAR rants, the bad gags, and the over-the-top celebrations when Hartlepool score a goal, and give someone else this fantastic job.

I'm leaving on May 28th. We've got a few more programmes between now and then, but this is the last six-hour Gillette Soccer Saturday, so we better get on with it haven't we?

A top man.

You could only wish him all the best in whatever comes next.
