It was a tough night for Celtic in the Champions League on Tuesday, with the Scottish champions falling to a heavy 6-0 defeat in their group stage clash at Atletico Madrid.

Having drawn with the same opposition at Parkhead a couple of weeks ago, their supporters would have been hoping that the side could pull off a famous European result in the Spanish capital. However, an early goal from Atletico's Antoine Griezmann followed by a red card for Daizen Maeda in the 23rd minutes ended any chances of such an outcome.

In the end, it was a routine victory for Diego Simeone's side, who went on to score five goals in the second half. One of those strikes has now come under the microscope due to some questionable goalkeeping.

Viewers baffled by Joe Hart goalkeeping in Celtic loss

There were plenty of questions surrounding the signing of Joe Hart when he first arrived at Celtic back in 2021, although it is fair to say his time at the club has been a success up to this point.

However, some are baffled by the approach he took in the buildup to one of the Atletico Madrid goals last night.

The 84th minute strike from Saul Niguez had no impact on the final outcome of the game, but the goalkeeping from Hart left plenty to be desired. He would backtrack into his own net before then palming the ball into the roof of the net.

Not great.

This angle of the goal raises even more questions.

This result all but ended Celtic's hopes of advancing to the knockout rounds, while they also sit five points behind third-placed Feyenoord. As a result, it looks likely that the club's supporters will have no European football to look forward to in the new year.

While this was a tricky group, their poor run or results does extend Brendan Rodgers' poor track record with the club in European competition.
