Sad news today folks. Jose Enrique's loan spell at Liverpool from Instagram has ended, as the Anfield club have released him from his contract early. The decision means that Enrique leaves Liverpool stuck on 99 appearances, although he does hold the record for the most photographed Liverpool career. Enrique was actually pretty good when he first joined Liverpool, possibly helped by the fact that one of his predecessors at left-back was Paul Konchesky, a remarkably easy act to follow.

A knee injury ultimately robbed Enrique of his pace, and despite randomly captaining Liverpool in the FA Cup 3rd round against Exeter City, the Spaniard has had little impact upon the club since the injury. As a tribute to the departing defender, we have selected a few highlights of his Anfield career.

...and assisted one of Luis Suarez' best goals

But he mostly spent time doing things other than play football

All the best, Jose.
