Considering what reportedly happened just minutes before Jose Mourinho stood in front of the TV cameras following Man Utd's 2-1 defeat in Sunday's Manchester derby, the Portuguese manager was a relatively calm figure.

According to multiple reports, Mourinho was involved in a 20-man melee outside the Man City dressing room after yesterday's game.

The Man Utd manager apparently approached the Man City dressing room to request that music, which was playing loudly, be turned down. That request sparked an argument with City keeper Ederson where words were exchanged in Portuguese before Mourinho told the Brazilian, “you fucking show respect. Who are you?” Mourinho is also said to have accused Ederson of time-wasting.

Up to 20 individuals, including Romelu Lukaku - who was a prominent in the scuffles - got involved in what one witness told the Guardian looked like a 'pub fight'.

Punches and bottles are said to have been thrown and Mikel Arteta, who is an assistant to Pep Guardiola, had his eyebrow split open, leaving blood running down his face. Another of Guardiola's assistants may also have required medical attention.

Despite being involved in the incident which ignited the fight - which saw police and stewards forced to intervene - Mourinho 'got off lightly' according to reports. The Telegraph say that the 54-year-old was squirted with milk and water and may have been hit with a plastic bottle.
