In their attempts to bolster their squad further still, Liverpool are willing to leave no stone un-turned as they seek the signature of Paris St Germain's Adrien Rabiot.
Out of contract at the end of the 2018/19 season, Liverpool are reported to have already made contact with the French midfielder's agent.
According to ESPN, 'Jurgen Klopp is a long-time admirer of Rabiot and tried to sign him when he was Borussia Dortmund coach.'
A multiple Ligue 1 winner with PSG, Rabiot also has a handful of French international caps to his name. However, due to a difference of opinion regarding playing-time between Rabiot and Didier Deschamps, the PSG man played no part in France's World Cup win last summer.
Highly rated by clubs across Europe, ESPN have similarly reported that Klopp and Rabiot 'have already spoken on the phone to discuss a move.'
It is understood that PSG do not necessarily want to lose Rabiot, yet, he has thus far refused their attempts at tying him to a new contract.
Intrigued by the prospect of playing abroad, last October Rabiot revealed in a radio interview on the French station RMC that he was a Liverpool fan growing up.
"I would love to play in the Premier League, not necessarily one club in particular, even though I was very fond of Liverpool when I was young," he said.
Having already strenghtened their midfield with the signings of Naby Keita and Fabinho over the summer transfer window, Rabiot would signal a significant coup for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.
