Liverpool continued their strong recent run of form this evening, securing a 2-0 victory at Sheffield United to move within two points of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.

It was not a vintage performance from Jurgen Klopp's men, especially in the second half. However, a first half strike from Virgil van Dijk and a stoppage team goal from Dominic Szoboszlai was enough to ensure they got a deserved three points.

This result will set Liverpool up nicely for the games to come over the coming weeks, with fixtures against the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal on the horizon.

While you may have expected Jurgen Klopp to be in a jovial mood as a result of the victory, he was certainly not happy with the way his post-match interview on Amazon Prime went.

Jurgen Klopp tears into Amazon presenter after Liverpool win

Jurgen Klopp has long complained about the amount of 12:30 kick-offs Liverpool have been involved in during his time at the club, especially when those fixtures come after a European match or international break.

The stats show he may have a point, with the Reds having in that slot directly after an international break over twice as much as any other club in the Premier League during his stint in the division. Liverpool will once again play in the early kick-off this weekend, this time away at Crystal Palace.

When Jurgen Klopp appeared on Amazon Prime (the UK broadcaster for this round of midweek Premier League fixtures) after the match, the host joked about the German's previous complaints about featuring in that time slot.

It's fair to say it did not go down well.

Host: You've had to shuffle the pack, you've had all these injury problems, you've got all these games, you're still going strong in Europe, the League Cup, the FA Cup. Now you're going to Palace at your favourite kick-off time at the weekend.

Klopp: Why would you say that? Really great to make a joke about that, really.

Host: But you've still got the passion and enjoyment, it's constant day in and day out?

Klopp: It is, it is constant. Now we go home, I don't know exactly when we will arrive, maybe 1am or 2am or whatever. Then we play again, we will have two sessions. It's fine to recover and then we go again. Crystal Palace play as well tonight so it's absolutely fine.

I realise you don't understand it as well, even though you work in football. So why should I try to explain it again? You can make a joke of that and just be completely ignorant. It's good, football is entertainment and I understand. It's all good.

Host: It's just one of those issues that comes up, and I'm not trying to be disrespectful at all.

Klopp: You were already.

Host: Okay, well Jurgen I apologise.

Klopp: It's all good. You can say what you want, it's just I can't say what I want because that would be really different.

Host: Well listen, it's been a success tonight and you've moved to within two points of the leaders. We wish you every success at Crystal Palace as well.

Klopp: You can tell that to Crystal Palace as well. All the best.

Spiky to say the least.

This seems like an over-the-top reaction from Jurgen Klopp to what was a harmless question, but he is clearly growing very frustrated with the scheduling of his team's games in recent times.

He needs to get used to it, with the matches set to come thick and fast over the coming weeks. If Liverpool can emerge unscathed from that period, they are very much set up for a title challenge in the second half of the season.
