It's not often that you would see somebody involved with Liverpool defending their biggest rivals Manchester United, let alone Jurgen Klopp. Both sides are yet to win a Premier League game this season and they meet on Monday night.

After Manchester United's humiliating 4-0 defeat to Brentford last weekend, former England and Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor didn't hold back with his comments on the club.

Speaking on talkSport, Agbonlahor said that new United boss Erik Ten Hag should "pack up" after their "shambolic" performance and slammed the Manchester United players.

"This is not Manchester United,

"If I was them now after this game I’d be thinking, ‘You know what, Ten Hag, just pack up’. He’s had pre-season and they have started the season as a shambles, they’re like strangers on the pitch...amateur from Manchester United."

Agbonlahor's comments are certainly premature and one man who didn't agree with what he had to say was Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp said that he "couldn't remember him being a mentality monster on the pitch" and that he was close to calling into the show to disagree.

Jurgen Klopp said:

" What he said about United on that show, I was close to call in. I was close to call in and tell him 'you forgot completely that you have been a player as well' it was unbelievable. And if ex-players go already like this, you can imagine how everything else is going."

Since becoming a pundit with talkSport, Agbonlahor has become known as someone with strong views on players and teams. Klopp just handed the broadcaster a week's worth of material
