Liverpool are still competing on three fronts this season, and with one trophy already in the bag, talk has inevitably started about whether the club could win an unprecedented quadruple in the weeks ahead.

Jurgen Klopp's side have the ability to do so. They are neck and neck with Manchester City in the Premier League, while they look very likely to advance to the Champions League semi-final considering they hold a 3-1 advantage ahead of their quarter-final second leg against Benfica tomorrow night.

They are also set to take on Pep Guardiola's men in the FA Cup next weekend, adding to what is a hectic schedule for the Merseysiders.

That is something that hasn't been helped by those who set the fixtures. Liverpool have been scheduled to play Newcastle at 12:30pm on April 30th, coming only a matter of days after a likely Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich or Villarreal.

Considering Klopp's run-ins with broadcasters over this very issue in the past, it will not surprise you to learn that he is very unhappy with this latest development.

Jurgen Klopp fuming over upcoming Liverpool fixtures

Speaking ahead of that game against Benfica tomorrow night, he said it was this type of fixture scheduling in the English game that made it all but impossible for any Premier League club to win a quadruple.

You cannot go for four trophies, you are part of four competitions. We are thankfully good enough this year to not go out early.

The fixture list we have now. The only game I'm concerned with tomorrow night is against Benfica. Because of the success we have so far, we play on Saturday against City (in the FA Cup), that would usually be Aston Villa. Then we play United (the following Tuesday), then we play Everton.

If we get through tomorrow night, then we have a semi-final. Then BT and the Premier League thought they would give us Newcastle away at 12.30 (the follow Saturday).

The schedule and how people use the fame at the moment, Liverpool are hot and everyone wants to see them, they couldn't care less, the TV stations. I know I am angry about this, but it's not okay.

If we play in a Champions League semi-final, if you find another league in the world and another broadcaster who puts one of the two or three English teams in a 12.30 kick-off, throwing a stick between their legs, what are you doing? Why would you do it?

That's why it's so difficult and it never happens (English teams winning a quadruple), because nobody cares.

This has been a persistent complaint from Jurgen Klopp in recent years, especially when his team are forced to play in the Saturday afternoon kick-off after a European fixture in midweek.

While this is a fair comment, their success so far in this campaign means that they are set to have a very busy few weeks ahead.
