Back in the 1960s, footballers used to celebrate a title win by lifting the cup, cheering a bit and then handing it to one of the directors. It would be shoved in the bonnet of said director's car until it  had to be handed back. In the GAA, meanwhile, players used to forget the cup in a rush to get back to the farm.
