Two League Of Ireland Managers Use Twitter To Take A Subtle Dig At Derided Branding Review

Yesterday, Jonathan Gabay presented his 'Branding Review' of the League of Ireland. Amongst it were ideas such as playing EA Sports games on (non-existent) giant screens at grounds. Or to have bus stops painted in club colours.

One of his recommendations in the Q&A conference following his presentation was that:

Managers engage in public spats to drum up a bit of publicity. Between you and me it's a bit of showbiz but it builds the product and it makes it exciting so why not? I don't see why you can't do stuff like that.

Well, Stephen Henderson and Collie O'Neill have taken it to heart. Either that or they're having an ever so subtle dig at the suggestion.

The Cobh manager was tweeting last night about the branding review but went one better this afternoon, tweeting this to UCD boss Collie O'Neill:

It didn't take long for O'Neill to respond.

Tongues firmly placed in cheek. With the League of Ireland fixtures for 2017 being released over the next week
