As if scoring an own goal isn't bad enough the English Football League have decided to compound Tom James' misery by awarding him League Two's 'Goal of the Weekend' after his misfortunate interception ended up in the back of his own team's net.

James' Yeovil Town would go on to lose 4-1 to Notts County on Saturday, and his miskick was the standout moment of the game as the defender inadvertently drove home from just outside the box to give Notts County a two goal cushion.

The whole situation seems a bit cruel on James, who surely needs no reminder of how aesthetically pleasing his gaffe was.
