Leyton Orient President Gets Six Match Ban For Kicking Bishop Brennan Up The Arse

Bishop Brennan, Andy Hessenthaler - it is all the same really. I don't mean to say that Leyton Orient president Francesco Becchetti ACTUALLY kicked actor Jim Norton up the arse while he was dressed in his bishop's cassock, but this swift boot in the direction of his assistant manager's backside definitely evokes memories of that classic Father Ted toebog.

Before we get to the video - sorry for being a tease - here is some background.

After Leyton Orient beat Portsmouth 3-2 on Stephen's Day, Hessenthaler made a gesture towards the stand at the final whistle. Becchetti promptly marched onto the pitch and as you can see from the video, aimed what is presumably a Gucci loafer straight at his employee.

Last night the FA opted to give Becchetti a six match ban for the offence despite the Italian's Richard Keysian explanation for his kick.

The club claimed that the incident was 'part of an ongoing good-natured exchange between the two', which is just a fancy way of saying 'It was just banter'.

The FA weren't buying that though, charging him with violent conduct.

For comparison's sake, here is the mammoth shoeing that Father Ted Crilly delivered to Bishop Len Brennan in one of the greatest episodes of TV comedy ever produced.

P.S: If anyone tells you they don't like Father Ted, cut them out of your life and/or divorce/break-up with them. Anyone who has ever told me that has, coincidentally or not, turned out to be an imbecile.
