Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo is available for selection once again, but that doesn't mean that his future at Manchester United is any less uncertain.

It is clear that the forward is very unhappy with his situation at the club, meaning we could well see a repeat of his antics against Spurs in the weeks ahead.

A move away from Old Trafford would seem to be best solution for all involved at this stage, although finding a potential destination will be no easy task. Not only will the financial commitment be a massive one, Ronaldo's waining powers coupled with his sizeable ego mean he could quickly become a headache for his new manager.

Chelsea have been mentioned as one possible destination. The club could do with another striker, while owner Todd Boehly has shown during his time in London that he is more than willing to make a splash in the transfer market.

Liam Brady warns Chelsea off Cristiano Ronaldo move

Of course, you could see any potential move to Stamford Bridge being quickly becoming a bit of a disaster.

Speaking to RTÉ, Liam Brady said that Chelsea should go nowhere near Cristiano Ronaldo as new boss Graham Potter attempts to establish himself at the club.

If I was Graham Potter, the last person I would want at the club in Cristiano Ronaldo.

I think Potter has a good array of forwards there already and as we’ve seen at Manchester United if Ronaldo is not played, he can be a problem.

It may be that the owner, he’s an American owner and he thinks Ronaldo has an aura about him. He might be saying to Potter, ‘do you fancy Cristiano?’

Potter has shown in the few months he’s been there that he’s very up for the job. He has no ego, he’s a very down to earth guy and he calls it as it is.

He seems to be giving everybody a chance in the squad and they’re buying into what he’s doing.

He looks as if he’s created a really good team spirit there and the last thing he needs is Cristiano coming in to mess it up.

While Boehly could well be intrigued by signing one of the biggest names in the sport, you would think that a move to Chelsea remains unlikely.

What other clubs could be interested remains to be seen, with Ronaldo unlikely to want to move away from European football at this point. He could well be stuck at Old Trafford for the remainder of the campaign, a situation that won't satisfy any of those involved.
