11:10 That's me done. Thanks for joining us. Make sure you get in touch and let us know what you made of the draw and who you fancy going through. The countdown to the business end of the Champions League starts now.

11:07 Shakthar & Dortmund by the way is going to be a brilliant tie. Two fantastic footballing sides. Definitely one of the one's I'm most looking forward to.

11:00 Neil Lennon just appeared on Sky Sports news and is upbeat despite his side drawing Juventus who currently sit 6 points on top of Serie A.

10:58 Here's Rio Ferdinand's reaction to his side's draw with Real Madrid

10:57 Arsenal will face last years beaten finalists Bayern Munich who are currently the run away leaders of the Bundesliga. A very tough ask for Arsene Wenger's side. Bayern are heading into their Winter break in which time Arsenal will play 6 games. Could be a major factor come the end of January.

10:56 Milan will face Barcelona for the 5th and 6th time in two seasons.

10:54 An absolutely cracking draw. The stand out tie is quite clearly Man United -V- Real Madrid. Ronaldo will be going back to Old Trafford. And of course an another epic battle between Ferguson and Mourinho ensues. United will take comfort from the fact that they will play the second leg at home. But they must come back from Madrid with the tie still alive.

10:53 Amazingly that is the exact same draw that was pulled in the rehearsal run.

10:38 Steve McManaman is being introduced on stage. He will conduct the draw. You sometimes forget that he is a two time former Champions League winner himself.

10:36 And we're just about set to go at the UEFA headquarters in Switzerland.

10:32 Here's Opta's statistical analysis of who has the best chance of winning this years Champions League.

10:28 Interestingly enough there are only 5 teams left at this stage that reached the last 16 last season. There are 11 newcomers. Also, this is the 13th consecutive time that Arsenal have reached this stage.

10:25 Neil Lennon has the jitters before the draw has even taken place:

The trial run of the draw took place yesterday with some very interesting ties being drawn. This would have seen Cristiano Ronaldo return to Old Trafford for the first time since he left back in 2006. Would you be happy if the draw panned out as above?

10:00 Man United will be wanting to avoid Real Madrid at all costs while they can also be drawn with Porto, AC Milan, Shakhtar Donetsk, Valencia or Celtic, all of whom finished runners up in their respected groups. Best case scenario: Celtic

Arsenal's prospects look much tougher with Barcelona, PSG, Malaga, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Bayern Munich all possible opponents in the last 16. Best Case scenario: Malaga

Celtic's heroics against Barcelona meant that finished runners up in Group G. Their reward will be a tie against United, Malaga, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke or PSG. Best case scenario: Malaga

09:48 Chelsea of course became the first ever reigning champions to fail to qualify for the knockout stages with both Juventus and Shakhtar finishing above them in Group E.

The final will take place in Wembley stadium on the 25th of May. While the last 16 ties are scheduled to take place in February and March. The home games will be played between the 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th of February, and the second legs will be played on the 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th of March 2013.

09:40 Hello and welcome to this mornings live blog bringing you the 2012/13 draw for the last 16 of the Champions League. The draw is due to take place in Nyon, Switzerland in just under an hours time.

Before that, here's a recap of the group winners and runners up and how the draw will work. The 16 teams are split into two groups, the winners and runners-up of group stages. The winning teams from each group will play the second league of the tie at home.

Here's a quick run down of the winners and runners up of each group:

Group A: Paris Saint-Germain & Porto
Group B: Schalke 04 & Arsenal
Group C: Malaga & Milan
Group D: Borussia Dortmund & Real Madrid
Group E: Juventus & Shakhtar Donetsk
Group F: Bayern Munich & Valencia
Group G: Barcelona & Celtic
Group H: Manchester United & Galatasaray
