In a week where the Panenka penalty has become famous in the World Cup, this attempt in Lyon V Arsenal is probably one of the worse attempts you will ever see.
Mikel Arteta's side took on Lyon in a friendly in preparation for the resumption of the Premier League on St Stephens Day, with Arsenal fielding their strongest side available to them, with the likes of Martin Odegaard, Kieran Tierney, Gabriel and Edward Nkeitah among those to start.
Arsenal ran out comfortable winners, with goals from Fabio Viera, Nkeitah and Gabriel sealing a 3-0 win. A very positive night for Arsenal, as the league leaders continue to impress, with key players getting match fitness and no injuries reported against Lyon.
However, due to the bizarre rules in the Dubai Super Cup, Arsenal and Lyon went to a penalty-shoot-out, despite Arsenal winning the game comfortably. Somehow, this wasn't the talking point of the evening.
Lyon Penalty Miss
In what can only be described as one of the worst penalty shoot outs you will ever watch, Lyon's Rayan Cherki seemed to take inspiration from the penalties at the World Cup, and was confident of pulling off a Panenka penalty of his own.
It wasn't a good decision.

The Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein had an easy save as he barley had to move, with the penalty lacking any conviction or power. While the Panenka looks good when it comes off this was the prime example of how foolish a player can look if the goalkeeper doesn't fall for it.
For those of you wanting another example of a player messing up a Panenka, watch below as Arsenal's Catalin Cirjan also produced a shocking miss of his own.

Tonight showed that for every Andrea Pirlo or Achraf Hakimi, there is always an Arsenal V Lyon penalty shoot out to show us what can go wrong.
