The English press are strongly hinting that Manchester United are 'lining up' a summer move for Everton centre half John Stones.

Despite Everton's indifferent campaign, Stones enjoyed what was by common consensus an excellent season. The Daily Mail announce very authoritatively that Louis Van Gaal is eyeing up Stones as a long-term replacement for Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, neither of whom were adequately replaced after leaving at the end of David Moyes' short reign.
