With time slowly running out in this summer's transfer window, it is likely that Manchester United will look to make one or two more additions before the end of the month.

Erik ten Hag has already bolstered his squad by signing the likes of Andre Onana, Mason Mount, and Rasmus Hojlund this summer. However, another midfielder could well be on his wish list.

The club recently sanctioned the departure of Fred to Fenerbache, while Scott McTominay has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham. That would leave Manchester United a bit light in the middle third, with the club have reportedly identified one potential target.

Manchester United eyeing move for Premier League midfielder

The Guardian are reporting that Manchester United are considering a move for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Belgium international moved to Goodison Park from Lille for a fee of £33million in 2022, going on to impress during his debut campaign on Merseyside.

It is thought that Everton would consider bids in excess of £50million for Onana's services, with the club coming under some financial pressure.

Considering the fees being paid for other midfielders in the current market, this deal could represent decent value for Manchester United. An imposing physical presence with plenty of room to improve, the 21-year old would be a valuable addition to the squad.

Erik ten Hag will be hoping to make one or two additions in the weeks ahead, although he will likely have to clear more deadwood from the squad before any such moves.

It will be an interesting few weeks ahead for the club, who will be hoping to take the next step in their development after an encouraging campaign last time out.
