Manchester United have already gotten a couple of big deals over the line in recent weeks, although it seems highly likely that the club will look to make one or two more additions before the end of the summer transfer window.

Andre Onana should bolster what had become a position of weakness for the club in goal, while Mason Mount will add a bit of extra quality in midfield. With those two players in the door, the next area of concern will be a striker.

United are clearly in the market for a no. 9 this summer, having been linked with quite a few names in recent times. It was said at one point that a move for Harry Kane could be in the offing, although it seems that his price tag has proven to be beyond their reach as things stand.

Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund is said to be the main target at the moment, although the Italian side are not budging from their rumoured £70million valuation. With Manchester United under some financial constraints after their heavy spending over the last 12 months, they could not pursue other options as a result.

Manchester United have identified possible Hojlund alternative

The Manchester Evening News are reporting that Manchester United have identified Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus as an alternative striker option this summer.

The Ghana international is someone that Erik ten Hag knows well, having worked together in Amsterdam for two seasons. That is something the Dutchman has valued at Old Trafford, signing a number of players that he previously managed.

Kudus would likely be a cheaper option than Rasmus Hojlund, with Ajax said to be seeking around £40million for his services. He would certainly be an intriguing signing. At 22-years old, he still has plenty of room to improve.

Randal Kolo Muani is another players on the Manchester United shortlist, although that would be a more difficult deal to pull off as it is thought that Eintracht Frankfurt would seek a fee of around €100million for the Frenchman.

Regardless of who they end up signing, it is clear that they need to get another new face through the door as soon as possible.
