Manchester United secured their return to the Champions League on Thursday night with an impressive win against the hapless Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Goals from Casemiro, Anthony Martial, Bruno Fernandes, and Marcus Rashford sealed a 4-1 win for United, and they can finish third in the table with a win at home against Fulham on the final day of the season on Sunday.

They are now guaranteed Champions League football next season, alongside Newcastle, Arsenal, and champions Manchester City.

That the top four spot was secured at the expense of bitter rivals Liverpool will only make Manchester United's success more enjoyable for their fans - and one ex-Liverpool man on punditry duty at Old Trafford laughed off some taunting from the home fans.

The atmosphere at Old Trafford for the game on Thursday night was buzzing, and some of the home fans gave ex-Liverpool man Jamie Redknapp a piece of their mind from the stands.

With Redknapp on punditry duty on the sidelines for Sky Sports, the crowd could be heard at half-time chanting: "Jamie Redknapp, you're a wanker! You're a wanker!"

The noise from the crowd was hilariously deafening, with the words of the chant in no doubt to TV viewers.

In fairness to Redknapp, who was part of the Liverpool squad who infamously lost to Manchester United in the 1996 FA Cup final, he was able to laugh off the incident, and it may not have come as a surprise to him given the bitter rivalry between the two clubs.

The Sky panel - including ex-Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink - attempted to stop themselves from losing it completely.

In the end, Manchester United's passage into Champions League football was achieved with relative ease against a Chelsea side who look completely lost under interim boss Frank Lampard.

Chelsea are now guaranteed to finish in the bottom half of the table, and could finish as low as 14th depending on how the final day of Premier League action goes.
