Irish midfielder Conor Hourihane has become a target for Marcelo Bielsa, as the Leeds manager has voiced his disapproval of the Aston Villa man's behaviour during last month's controversial meeting between both sides.

After accepting the punishment handed out to his own player, Patrick Bamford, for "successfully deceiving a match official" at Friday's press conference, Bielsa turned his attention to Hourihane who he claimed punched Leeds goalscorer Mateusz Klich during the feisty encounter.

The Argentinian continued on in an attempt to reason why a decision was made not to sanction the Aston Villa player.

The conclusion you have to draw is that when someone gives a punch, you can't analyse the strength of the punch - you know it's a punch, you don't know how strong, you have to measure it, and the only one who can measure it is the one who receives it.

If you punch someone and it's not strong, it's not aggression. If you punch someone and it's strong, it's aggression. That's the conclusion you have to draw.

During the press conference, the 63-year-old also revealed he personally paid the fine slapped on the club after members of his coaching staff were caught spying at the Derby County training ground.

The league fined the club £200,000 for the incident before the Leeds manager, subsequently, admitted to spying on all opposition in the league.

The sanction (the EFL) gave us of £200,000: it is a financial sanction against the club, not against me, but I am responsible for it.

That is why I paid it from my pocket, the financial sanction.

Already qualified for the promotion play-offs, Leeds play their final regular season game against Ipswich Town tomorrow afternoon before the push for that last lucrative spot in the Premier League begins in earnest.
