Martin O'Neill Has Annoyed Some People With Very Dodgy WAG Joke

It seems that Martin O'Neill's talent for cracking toe-curlingly awkward jokes at press conferences has finally landed him in a spot of bother.

As is traditional a couple of months out from the tournament, the thorny question of WAG policy has popped up.

Roy Keane, a past critic of increased WAG influence in football matters, deftly sidestepped any controversy when questioned on the matter yesterday.

O'Neill was asked about the issue today.

Addicted to making impish jokes at pressers, O'Neill dived headfirst into dodgy territory. Quite how he thought these comments would be read as anything other than awful is a mystery. The PR guy that should live in his brain - a lax operator at the best of times - was clearly snoozing on the job.

Well, it depends on how good looking the girls are. If they are really attractive, they're very, very welcome. The uglier ones, I'm afraid not.

Miraculously, O'Neill has avoided having to issue any apologies for his previous dodgy jokes. This run may have come to an end by tomorrow.
