Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has been popping up all over this World Cup, with the Derry man on punditry duty for both ITV and Fox Sports 1, but it's fair to say that his work for the American station is slightly more offbeat.

The 66-year-old has found himself in a studio full of madmen and chancers (and Hernan Crespo) by the looks of things, with some pre-planned b*ntz descending into one of the strangest TV exchanges of the World Cup.

The whole episode started when the main anchor  showed a picture of O'Neill in his Nottingham Forest days:

Anchor: Martin O'Neill, look at that! Look at that hair!

MON: You know the way people usually say boss I don't like to look at that photograph because I'm better now, well I'm uglier now. I kind of like that photograph

Anchor: You look fantastic Martin! Fantastic!

O'Neill then turned to one of his co-pundits, Fernando Fiore and this is when things got weird:

MON: May I ask you one question, very quickly I've just met you, but are you a bit mad? I just want to know.

Fiore then gave O'Neill a look before standing up and planting a kiss on the forehead on the former Celtic manager's forehead:

Another odd moment came before that incident when Fiore asked O'Neill to sign the Adidas Telstar ball for no good reason:

So there you have it, tune in to Fox Sports 1 for more wacky World Cup coverage.
