Fans forgive sportspeople for lots of things: cheating, infidelity, being a general asshole. But one thing many cannot get past is the mistreatment of an animal. NFL quarterback Michael Vick was ostracised far longer than sinking putts and banging sluts Tiger Woods was. With that in mind, look at the virtriolic reaction this player receives when he manhandles this pitch invading dog.

The player was sent off and both the opposition and his teammates seemed pretty horrified with the player's actions. And while the player's behavior was ridiculous, is there a rule that says you can't mistreat an animal in a football game? Perhaps the ref felt that gross moral misconduct warranted a straight red.
