Yesterday, it became clearer as to what Robbie Keane's next destination is: Dubai club Al-Ahli tweeted a photo of Robbie training with the club, meaning the record Irish striker has found another corner of the globe in which to trot.

Despite the fact that Al-Ahli will be Keane's eleventh club, he is not the Irishman included on the following list.

The Telegraph have worked out the most expensive player per age in football's history, and among the likes of Pogba, Neymar, Suarez, Bale and Zizou, stands an Irishman: Shay Given.

Yep, the Irish 'keeper is the most expensive 32-year-old in the history of the game. In 2009, Manchester City paid relegated Newcastle £7.65 million for Given's services, earning him his small corner in history.

Interestingly, the most expensive 33-year-old is also a goalkeeper signed by City: the ironically named Claudio Bravo. Elsewhere, the priciest 14-year-old is Sheyi Ojo, for whom Liverpool paid MK Dons just over £2 million for in 2011. At the other end of the scale is 40-year-old Bogdan Stelea, who moved from Unirea Urziceni to Brasov for £85,000 in 2008.

Man City are responsible for four of the purchases on the list a higher proportion than any other club, (the goalkeepers along with Raheem Sterling and John Stones), although they did sell a 36-year-old David James for a record £1.45 million to Portsmouth in 2006. Liverpool appear once for buying and twice for sellling (Sterling and Luis Suarez). Manchester United are there for the purchases of Luke Shaw (18), Anthony Martial (19) and Paul Pogba (23), and Arsenal are included for the record purchases of a 15-year-old Fran Merida and 16-year-old Theo Walcott.

Barca are there thrice, for Neymar (21), Luis Suarez (27) and Lillian Thuram (34). Real Madrid own two of the records: Zidane, at 29, and Gareth Bale, who made his world record transfer at the age of 24.
