While Liverpool are only really playing to break records over the remainder of the season, one of the storylines their supporters will be keeping an eye out for is the form of Naby Keita.

Ever since signing from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2018 the midfielder has experienced mixed fortunes at Anfield. He has shown some incredibly promising flashes at times, but he seems to suffer an injury every time it looks as though he will get a run in the team.

With noises coming out of Anfield that he was looking incredibly sharp when the players returned to training after their extended hiatus, hopes were high that he would put together a strong finish to the season.

He started the Merseyside derby in the first game back but failed to make much of an impact. Having been left out of the team for the fixtures against Crystal Palace and Manchester City, he was drafted in once again for the Aston Villa game yesterday.

Keita struggled at times, although that could be said for the majority of the Liverpool players on the pitch. However, it was a moment of immense quality from the Guinean that provided the breakthrough for his team.

His assist for Sadio Mane's opener looked excellent on first viewing, but a clip released by Liverpool showed just how incredible it was.

In the video, we are given the view that Keita had at the time he received the pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold. How he even spotted Mane, never mind delivering the ball to him in such an amount of space, is ridiculous.

Defence-splitting passes such as this one is the reason he was brought to Anfield, especially to break down deeper defences such as Aston Villa's yesterday afternoon.

Liverpool supporters that Keita will kick on from here over the remainder of the season.
