There is a lot of ridiculously exciting talent making headlines in Serie A at the moment.

While scouts from around Europe are keeping taps on players like Frank Kessie and Amadou Diawara every week, it was the emergence of a young North Korean player that dominated headlines this week, and that's not something you really ever hear.

By bagging a goal for Cagliari against Torino, Han Kwang-Song became the first ever North Korean player to score in Serie A.

After shining for North Korea at underage level and impressing at various Asian championships, he was brought in on trail by Cagliari in February and after showing his ability was signed for the club's youth setup last month. He then scored a bicycle kick for the U19s that saw him inserted into the first team squad, and one week after making his debut he bagged his first goal.

He was also the topic of discussion on BT Sport's European Football Show at the weekend.

It has been a dramatic rise to prominence, and this is something we have never seen from a player coming out of North Korea before.

By scoring his first goal, past Joe Hart no less, in one of Europe's top leagues he will no doubt become a hero back home, if they get word of the news that is. We're sure they will.

The Pyongyang native has several highlight videos of his debut up on YouTube already, so clearly there's a buzz building around him.

Keep an eye out for Han Kwang-Song, you could be hearing his name a lot more in the near future.
