One Hell Of A Quote On 'Timid' Roy Keane From Harry Redknapp

Harry Redknapp is one of the more colourful and therefore quotable characters in world football. The QPR boss made a very surprising comment about former Ireland captain Roy Keane, in his latest book 'A Man Walks On To a Pitch'.

Do you know why it took so long for Roy Keane to get his break as a kid? He was a bit timid. Unbelievable isn’t it? But those were the words of our Irish scout, and he knew him inside out.

He was a right-winger at the time, and they thought he was a bit soft. It is amazing how people change.


Unbelievable indeed. Despite being harshly critical of "Pussycat" Keane's mental strength, the former Spurs manager did include him alongside Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira in the midfield of his Team of the Premier League Early Years. Check out the full team below.
