One Quote From Lukaku's Agent Perfectly Displays Football At Its Most Rotten

Everton fans should feel bloody cheated right about now. Romelu Lukaku was never a particularly good footballer, at least not one worth £28 million. Everton handed over that amount because they thought they were buying potential. The problem is that since he's moved to Goodison on a permanent deal from Chelsea, Lukaku has actually regressed.

He misses way too many chances to ever be considered top quality and right now it's unlikely that Everton will ever recoup that significant outlay, something which is key to their business model.

And yet the big Belgian is apparently already looking for a move away. If any proof is needed of that, then the fact that he has just hired Mino Raiola as his agent should be a bit of a giveaway, even if Roberto Martinez says it's not.

Raiola, along with Jorge Mendes, is what is now called a super-agent. That pretty much means he makes a shed load of money. What makes an agent turn into a super-agent? This apparently:

So, last year Lukaku finds a club where he feels comfortable and where he's playing well. As a result he decides to join them. Fast forward less than a year and now, via his agent, he's attempting to ride roughshod over the club that would never be able to recoup the money they spent on him because he hasn't been good enough.

Football is a horrible business.
