Opinion: Liverpool Fans Have Ruined Fantasy Football

I'm not here to throw shade at Jurgen Klopp. I'm not here to criticise the Liverpool board. As a club that have really turned things around. They have created a team and a culture that deserves every bit of success that is coming their way.

However, the same cannot be said for a certain cohort of Liverpool fans who are capitalising from the club's achievements.

These are the fans who were putting three Liverpool players in their Fantasy Premier League teams back when they couldn't kick snow of a rope. Back then we'd scoff and haw-haw at them as they scratched their heads, wondering why their Andy Carroll led FPL squad was just far off the pace.

They were a joke really. No competition to real FPL players who could actual make logical jugements on players rather then letting their heart infect their head.

And I choose the word "infect" rather than "rule" deliberately because it wasn't just a case of "I know I shouldn't but I can't help it" with these guys. They would genuinely try to argue with you that having Javier Mascherano in your fantasy team was a great idea. A player who scored one goal in 99 Premier League games.

Or they would tell you how they have a feeling Stuart Downing was going to hit a rich vein of form and was definitely a better option than Gareth Bale. Anyhow, as I said, we passed no remarks at them and their silly little ways.

But now the tables have turned. Now, their Liverpool bias is reaping rewards.

Look at the top players in the world right now. Eight of the current world's Top 10 in FPL have declared what team they support and six of them are Liverpool fans. Of the top 15 players who wear their club colours on their sleeve, 11 of them support Liverpool

Look around your own private leagues. They're everywhere! Liverpool fans are taking over. They must be stopped. Sure, owning three Liverpool players is the right thing to do this season but why should these fecks be rewarded when they had been unwittingly doing it for years!? Yea, you might be accidentally doing the right thing now but there should be retrospective punishment for playing shite lads in the past!

If it wasn't for the hapless Man United fans doing the exact same thing right now then one would have to wonder what is the fun in FPL at all?

Out! Out! I say!
