German Paper Really Didn't Rate Mesut Ozil's Performance Last Night

Mesut Ozil has been heavily criticised for his contribution to the Arsenal team since joining the London club last year..

The World Cup winner put in another lacklustre performance for the Gunners last night in a poor 2-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stage. The German midfielder played so poorly in the match that German newspaper Bild judged him to be the worst player on the pitch.

Bild uses an unconventional 1-6 player rating system. 1 signifies a world class performance whereas 6s are only awarded to players who turn in abysmally awful performances. Ozil, of course, received a 6 for a weak display in which won just 17% of the tackles he made.

Arsenal fans will be hoping for a marked improvement from their record £42.5 million signing in the return fixture.

According to Henry Winter they also said that Ozil "didn't earn his money."
