Phil Neville's spell in Spain has taken a new turn after the resignation of Valencia manager Nuno Espirito. Nuno leaves the club in ninth place in La Liga, after their 1-0 loss to Sevilla.

It's a swift move into a top job for Neville, who was the assistant to David Moyes at United. Neville becomes the first English manager of a Spanish top flight club since Sir Bobby Robson was in charge at Barcelona. Neville takes control with fellow coach Salvador Gonzalez temporarily ahead of Valencia's cup game with Barakaldo. He may even still be in charge for the visit of Barcelona next weekend.

Neville only joined the Spanish side in June, and becomes one of a number of Fergie players that have entered management after the likes of Roy Keane, Steve Bruce, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Teddy Sheringham.
