Debates in Balls HQ get very heated, and the popcorn stocks are low when Mick and Gary go on their entertaining arguments.
We don't know how many times that we've said "we should share some of these arguments/discussions/shouting matches with everyone". Then an intern had the genius/controversial idea of sharing what we say on slack.
Slack is an instant messenger client that a lot of offices use to communicate internally, and we created a channel to talk about the choices that Martin O'Neill is going to face cutting his squad down to 23.
Here's the discussion, and the final 23 man squads that came out of it:
*Note: slackbot is an automated response. You can program it to say various things like "What's the password for the jacks?". Ours is called Mark, and he likes to remind everyone that he likes chicken pasta whenever he's mentioned:
Here are our squads. As it happens, Gary and Mick - for all their arguing - happened to pick the same 23 man squad. Which tends to happen for most of their arguments.
Gavin decided he'd prefer David McGoldrick in the squad ahead of Stephen Quinn, and is sure that O'Neill won't be calling up Kieren Westwood:
PJ likes to be different, plucking for David Meyler ahead of Daryl Murphy. He did stress that this wasn't the squad he'd pick (Westwood would be in ahead of Forde), but who he thinks O'Neill will choose. PJ also lamented the death of the Scott Hogan bandwagon.
