After the outpouring of support for Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw following the double leg fracture he received during Manchester United recent Champions League loss to PSV Eindhoven, the man who caused the injury has been the focus of heavy criticism from some Manchester United fans.

While Roy Keane certainly didn't criticise Hector Moreno, and even went as far as to praise the challenge, many felt that the Mexican defender was far too reckless in his attempt to clear the danger, but Luke Shaw himself doesn't go along with that narrative.

In an interview with Dutch newspaper Metronieuws, Moreno revealed that he and manager his Phillip Cocu visited Shaw in the hospital, and the Manchester United defender accepted his apology:

What happened to Shaw was very unfortunate. I was just in shock. I'm glad I was able to speak to him. I was with Phillip Cocu went to the hospital. That was very difficult in the beginning, but he was very kind and took not blame me. He had seen the images and said this was part of football. That made me smile.

This helps to confirm our belief that Luke Shaw is just a really sound guy if nothing else, but it's good to know that the two players were able to share a private moment after an incident such as the one that occured on the pitch.

There has since been a positive update on Luke Shaw's situation, so lets hope he gets back to his best as soon as possible.
