With the season almost done, 21 Irish players have played minutes in the Premier League. This is the exact same as last season, despite a few differences in personnel. It represents a welcome upturn from previous season, when only 15 Irish players appeared, an all-time low. In fact,the last two seasons have been first time we've broken twenty since the 2015/16 season. Prior to that, there had never been less than 20 Irish players in any season going back to the formation of the league in 1992.
Amazingly, there were 36 Irish players who appeared in the Premier League in 2009/10 and again in 2011/12. Those days appear to be long gone, but there is a sense that the tide is changing with a number of young players seemingly on the verge of a breakthrough at their clubs.
But can you name all 21 who have appeared so far this season? Unfortunately, not all of them have been regulars, or even a majority. We've given you their club and three minutes to get them. We expect a lot of you to get full marks on this one.
