Ben Smith of the BBC broke news earlier that Raheem Sterling will reiterate his desire to Brendan Rodgers that he wants to leave Liverpool this season.

According to Smith, the player already told Rodgers, before the game against Chelsea on May 10th, that he wishes to depart Anfield.

Sterling is contracted to Liverpool for a further two seasons and the club have said he is not for sale but according to the BBC, an offer in the region of £35m would be tempting. Manchester City are said to be the main contender for his signature with Arsenal and a number of European clubs also interested. Sky Sports say that Sterling feels as if he is being "bullied" into signing a new contact.

This was Jamie Carragher's reaction to the news on Monday Night Football.
