The current Manchester United group seems like a bit of a mess. There are constant leaks coming out of the dressing room about discontent among the squad, with this season having bruised plenty of rather large egos in the squad.

You also hear of cliques developing amongst the players, something that can have a detrimental effect on performances on the pitch.

The club's top four chances were all but ended with this afternoon's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal, meaning there is little to play for in the weeks ahead. Considering how abject performances have been in recent weeks, the club's supporters are probably dreading to think how much worse things can get now that there is little on the line.

Speaking on Premier League Productions before today's game, Paul Scholes revealed that Jesse Lingard recently told him that the Manchester United dressing room is a 'disaster'.

It's an absolute mess. It's a disaster of a dressing room.

I had a quick chat with Jesse Lingard, and I'm sure he won't mind me saying, the dressing room is just a disaster.

Lingard probably won't thank Scholes for revealing these comments in public, although he may not be that bothered considering he will be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer. Either way, leaks such as this one are indicative of the problems within the squad.

Inevitably, the comments would then be put to Ralf Rangnick.

Speaking to the media after the game, the German was asked whether Lingard's description of the dressing room was an accurate one. He didn't seem too happy with the Englishman while answering.

I don’t know, you have to ask Jesse Lingard.

Obviously, after games like today, there is massive disappointment in the locker room. This is, for me, normal.

I think the whole group get on reasonably with each other, I’m not daring to say get on well, but I don’t see there is an issue with the atmosphere in the locker room.

They are very disappointed and frustrated. Had we converted the penalty it would have changed the whole game, but we didn’t.

With Rangnick's time as manager drawing to a close, he has been increasingly forthright in his assessments of the club's issues in recent weeks.

He certainly won't be too concerned with upsetting a few players within the squad, meaning his words in the weeks ahead could actually be the only remaining interesting aspect of Manchester United's season.
