With the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) set to kick off this weekend, it's time to look at the kits that will be on show in the Ivory Coast over the coming weeks.

Every edition at the tournament brings with it a huge amount of colour, something that also applies to the jerseys that the teams will be wearing. There is more variance in the offering in at AFCON than perhaps any other major international tournament, with some absolute belters on show.

With that in mind, here is out ranking of every team's home kit at this year's AFCON.

Ranking every team's home kit at AFCON

24. Namibia - N/A

At the time of writing, the kit has yet to be revealed.

23. Zambia

It's a hard pass for us here.

This is a terrible kit.

22. Burkina Faso

There is nothing wrong with the effort per se, but it's place near the bottom of the rankings points towards the quality of offerings in this year's AFCON.

21. Guinea

We are normally fans of pinstripes on jerseys, but they don't add a whole lot to this one.

It's just a bit plain.

20. Tunisia

It's too boring.

For a team with the success of Tunisia, they have produced some remarkably poor kits in recent years.

19. Mozambique

This sits just above Tunisia, but it is still lacking something.

18. DR Congo

The Democratic Republic of Congo are no longer partnered with Irish manufacturer O'Neills, with this Umbro effort not quite at the level of their previous kits.

17. Gambia

This kit looks more like a rugby offering than football, but it is not bad.

16. Cape Verde

We really like the way the shark is incorporated into this kit, but overall, it does not really move us.

That's a huge pity because Cape Verde always have the potential to produce top class jerseys.

15. Egypt

Egypt have had some wonderful kits down through the years, but this is a fairly middle of the road effort.

Not offensive, but not not eye-catching enough.

14. Morocco

Recommended

This jersey brought Morocco plenty of luck at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and they will be hoping it does the same over the coming weeks.

13. Mauritania

The metallic gold writing on this kit adds a bit of something extra, as do the yellow lines behind the crest.

It's not bad.

12. Algeria

The central crest gives this some extra style points, but we were hoping for more.

11. Guinea-Bissau

We're getting into some quality kits now.

This effort from Guinea-Bissau is certainly one of the more interesting ones at this year's AFCON.

10. Equatorial Guinea

Macron have produced some lovely kits across various codes in recent years, with this being a decent effort.

It is certainly unique.

9. South Africa

South Africa kits have been largely hit and miss over the last decade, although this is certainly one of their better ones.

8. Cameroon

This is not you regular Cameroon kit, but we like it.

7. Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast have produced some iconic kits down through the years, and while this isn't quite to that level, it is still a very nice jersey.

The hosts will be hoping that it can power them to glory at this year's tournament.

6. Senegal

The defending champions are among the favourites to win the tournament again this year, with this kit among the finest on show at the event.

5. Angola

This is a beauty.

The yellow circle really add to the body of the kit, as does the trim on the sleeves and the clean black collar. That is enough to get it into the top five of these rankings.

4. Tanzania

There are big 90s vibes off this Tanzania kit, something that always goes down well among jersey aficionados.

We're massive fans.

3. Nigeria

Nigeria have had some magnificent kits in recent times, and while this one is not enough to top these rankings, it is still a cracker.

Nike have really knocked out it out of the park during their partnership with the Nigerians.

2. Ghana

Clean cut, simple, but yet stands out from the crowd.

This effort from Ghana took some beating.

1. Mali

What a kit. Everything about it is phenomenal.

It had to be our no. 1.
