The career of Ravel Morrison is very much a case of 'what if'. As a youngster at Manchester United, he was regarded as one of the most talented youth prospects the club had ever seen, no small praise for a team that has produced some brilliant players over the years.
There was always a worry about his application. United were worried that he did not take his craft seriously enough, something that could limit where he went in the game.
Those concerns turned out to be well founded. Morrison never came close to fulfilling his potential, making only a handful of appearances at Old Trafford. His off-field issues continued to plague him
He would move to West Ham, where he also failed to make an impact. He spent time on loan at a number of Championship clubs, but it soon became clear that the midfielder would have to leave England in order to get a fresh start.
What has followed has been quite the collection of clubs from all over the globe. Morrison has had stints in Italy, Mexico and Sweden.
Having been given a trial at Sheffield United in 2019, it was seen as probably his last chance at making it in the Premier League. However, it once again didn't work out for him.
For this season, he would sign with Dutch club ADO Den Haag at the start of this season in September, but as has become an all too predictable trend, his time at the club is now over. His contract has terminated by mutual consent, with Morrison on his way out after only four appearances.
The Jamaica international will now be on the lookout for the 13th club of his career. At 27-years old, he is surely quickly approaching his final opportunity.
