Remembering Stephen Ireland's Extraordinarily Awful Season

Stephen Ireland has been the first name on the team sheet of nearly every 'Worst XI Of The Premier League Season' published today, and of course we agree. Given all of the bluster following his press conference to mark his arrival in Birmingham, Ireland's season must go down as one of the worst ever in modern football. The disastrous spell at Villa followed was rounded out by the loan spell at Newcastle which did not exceed an hour on the pitch. The Indo's Dan McDonnell perfectly rounded-up the season of the 3,000 a minute man when he hung up his boots for the year at the end of April, but I thought it was worth passing on his season stat sheet, via Soccernet.
