Leicester are considering a surprise move for young Irish centre-back Ryan Nolan.
Nolan, who was born in Clare, is currently playing for Italian third division side Arezzo. He has spent the majority of his young playing career abroad and is apparently looking to move somewhere a little closer to home, with England his preferred destination.
According to The Sun, Arezzo are open to letting the young centre-back leave on a free transfer despite him still having two years left on his contract if a sell-on clause is included in the sale.
The Foxes are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements this summer, as Johnny Evans and Wes Morgan aren't getting any younger. The Sun are also reporting that recently relegated Norwich and Championship side Blackburn Rovers are also interested in signing him.
Nolan, who moved from Ireland with his family at the age of 8, has represented Ireland at all underage levels up to U18s. He was on the fringes of Inter's first team squad under Luciano Spaletti, and was on the bench for an Inter Europa League match in February 2019. However Nolan left the club last season after the arrival of new gaffer Antonio Conte, who is known to favour experience over youth in his teams.
Nolan reportedly came close to signing for Leeds United last season but the move apparently fell through due to Marcelo Bielsa wanting to send him on loan immediately. If Nolan does move to Leicester, he'd be joining one of the best sides in the Premier League.
