Just when you thought Paul Pogba had really gotten his Manchester United career back on track, it appears as though he may be angling for a move away from the club.

The Frenchman has been in flying form over the past couple of months, looking a lot closer to the player United thought they were getting when they forked out a world record fee to bring him to Old Trafford in 2016. While he may be playing his best football in some time, Pogba could have one eye on the exit door.

Marca are repotting that the player is hoping to move to Real Madrid this summer, with his agent Mino Raiola making contact with the Spanish giants in recent weeks. The Portuguese agent has made it clear that his client would like a move to the Spanish capital, meaning the ball is very much in the club's court at the moment.

The report states that Pogba decided to leave United a number of months ago when Jose Mourinho was still at the club. While their fortunes have improved dramatically under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he has not changed his mind.

On Madrid's behalf, Pogba is a player that have had an eye on for some time. They were interested in signing him from Juventus, but were unwilling to match the transfer fee United handed over. Zinedine Zidane even addressed the rumours today, saying he is a big fan of his compatriot:

I really like Pogba and you know that.

I know him very well, he’s a different kind of player and he can provide many things because of his skills. He knows how to attack and defend.

However, he’s not my player. He plays for United and we have to respect that. He’s always said that he likes Madrid.

If United were forced to sell the player, they would demand a significant fee for his services. Considering the inflation of fees in the transfer market in recent times, they would make a profit on the £89million they handed out three years ago.
