RMC in France are reporting this afternoon that Mamadou Sakho has been provisionally suspended by Liverpool for allegedly failing a drugs test. It is alleged that Sakho tested positive for a banned substance contained in a fat burner that RMC write was used "for purely personal and therapeutic interest to remove his fat".

Sakho has been in fine form for Liverpool of late, founding a solid defensive partnership with Dejan Lovren and scoring at Anfield in games against Borussia Dortmund and Everton.
