Rio Ferdinand Took Awful Stick During Fergie's Carrick Testimonial Team Talk

Michael Carrick's testimonial was one of the more enjoyable in recent memory, particularly for Manchester United fans as rather than trot out the current first team and some kids, he invited his pals from the 2008 Champions League winning season to 'get the band back together' and play a team of his former teammates, and a few bangers like Clarence Seedorf as well.

There were goals, laughs, and a perfect moment of Carrick as he scored late on to salvage a draw and soak in the adoration from the crowd, and that would have been crucial for his guest manager for the day, as Alex Ferguson's instructions before he sent his team out one last time were 'just don't bloody lose'.

We know this thanks to Rio Ferdinand, who uploaded Fergie's pre-match team talk to his YouTube channel, even though he took a bit of abuse from Fergie, and Gary Neville, who just couldn't resist.

Two centre backs, Ferdinand and Vidic, you [Rio] can't play midfield.

I played him once there, and Robbie Savage run all over the bloody top of him.

[Rio then points out him and Wayne Rooney played in midfield against Wolves] The only reason why you were good was because Paul Ince was 39 at the time.

[Team talk continues, Fergie brings up his final match vs West Brom] Last game was a 5-5 draw.

At 5-2 I thought we were going to win by 10, then Rio goes... Lukaku came on and scored a hat-trick against him, has anybody ever scored a hat-trick against you?

Ferdinand: No.

Gary Neville: Did you not see him at QPR?

Ouch. Neville, in fairness, works with Jamie Carragher every day so he is used to pulling the trigger as quick as possible when it comes to an insult.

We're loving the impromptu 'Where Are They Now?' Ferguson did with the lads who were inside the dressing room too.

That really was an outstanding squad, and it's nice to see that it clearly has a special place reserved in the heart of Alex Ferguson after all he achieved in the game.
