Tributes Across Football Pour In For Robbie Keane Upon his International Retirement

Robbie Keane has today announced his international retirement, after 18, goal-laden years.

Tributes have flowed in to recognise the remarkable international achievements of Keane.

Martin O'Neill was quoted in an FAI statement as saying:

Robbie's appearances and goals for Ireland speak for themselves.

He is undoubtedly one of Ireland's finest every players and I do not see his international goal record being beaten for a very long time, if ever. It will take us some time to get over his absence.

John Delaney also paid tribute, calling Keane a "great Irish man".

President and Proper Football Fan Michael D. Higgins also released a statement in response to Keane's retirement:
